Ms. Espey joined Bryan-Hinshaw in February 2005. Her practice emphasizes estate planning, trust law, conservatorships, probate, and litigation related to wills and trusts. In serving clients Ms. Espey seeks to carefully ascertain clients’ needs, to provide thorough, thoughtful advice, and to efficiently provide legal services. Ms. Espey is a native San Franciscan and has lived in San Francisco all of her life, except for time spent in Santa Cruz to complete her undergraduate degree in Theater Arts at the University of California. Ms. Espey worked in a variety of fields before becoming an estate planning paralegal. She enjoyed estate planning so much that she decided to become an attorney. Ms. Espey obtained a Juris Doctorate from University of California Hastings College of the Law in May 2004. While at Hastings Ms. Espey was very fortunate to work as a Summer intern at the San Francisco District Attorney’s Office, and to extern with the San Francisco Probate Court for two semesters. Ms. Espey volunteered with the San Francisco Probate Department’s Guardianship Program to assist pro per petitioners with completion of probate guardianship forms, and she assisted with drafting a manual for paralegal volunteers. Ms. Espey received the CALI Excellence for the Future Award in Spring 2004 for her work in the Hastings Estate Planning Seminar.
